Parks and Resorts replaces waste with reuse through GoZero
Instead of discarding fully functional furniture and machines in their parks, Parks and Resorts have started internal reuse via the GoZero app. Through this initiative, they save both money and environmental resources, while the collaboration contributes to the further development of the reuse service.
At Gröna Lund and other parks within Parks and Resorts, furniture and equipment that still worked were previously discarded. The work with mixed waste solutions led to useful material often going to waste, which was seen as unnecessary waste. The initiative was taken, among others, by Jimmy Lindell, supervisor in park support and gardening at Gröna Lund, who wanted to create a more resource-conscious process.
The result?
- Fully functional furniture, technology and work clothes are reused internally within the group.
- Cost savings through reduced purchases and transport.
- Environmental gains are automatically documented in the app — with reports showing saved CO₂.
- The commitment has spread in the organization, and in 2024 Jimmy Lindell received the award “Sustainability Hero of the Year” at Gröna Lund for his initiative.
I realized that the GoZero app could help us a lot. It's super easy to take a picture, and then the app creates an ad that we can quickly share within the group,” says Jimmy Lindell, supervisor for park support and gardening at Gröna Lund.
Emilia Mastad from PreZero comments on the collaboration:
“It's very valuable for us to see how a large and seasonally driven company like Parks and Resorts works with reuse. They come up with ideas that help us develop the app so that it works even better for the users.”
